Sunday Worship

Our Sunday Worship Service is our weekly gathering for prayer, praise, fellowship and learning and growing together. We sing a wide variety of hymns, utilizing the best of the old and the best of the new. Special music is provided by the Senior Choir, the Hand Bell Choir and soloists. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. We practice “open communion” where members and non-members are all welcome to receive communion.

Sunday School
We provide a program for children from an infant’s crib room through grade eight, with two volunteer teachers per class. Our classes participate in a variety of service and fun activities in addition to exploring biblical stories in depth.

Junior and Senior High Youth Groups
Our youth groups provide a mixture of fun, friendship, spiritual growth, and service. Our groups are open to all the youth of the community. Students help plan the activities, along with adult leaders. Our summer youth mission trip is always one of the highlights of the year. It’s open to students grades 8 – 12.

Confirmation Class
We provide an experience for eighth graders and above that helps them feel at home in the church and prepares them to be active participants. We strive to help them learn the basics of the Christian faith as well as develop their spiritual lives and their relationship with God.

Bible Studies
An ongoing Bible Study group meets every Wednesday morning. Our pastor leads Bible Studies and book clubs throughout the year as well.

Book Groups
Our church has a Women’s Book Group as well as a Men’s Book Group. Both groups meet for fellowship and to discuss books of common interest.

Men’s Coffee Group
This group meets at Panera Bread on Wednesday mornings at 6:30 am for fellowship and wide-ranging conversation.

Outreach Programs
Through our Board of Christian Mission and Outreach we participate in various service projects, including the Cor Unum Community Meal, the Bread & Roses Meal Center, collecting food and clothing to be distributed in the greater Lawrence community, supporting local Habitat for Humanity projects, The Heifer Project, and more.

Fall & Spring Flea Markets
Each October and April we hold a Flea Market in Carvell Hall. These are important fundraisers as well as an opportunity to work and fellowship together as a church family.
