We decided to skip July and reconvene on August 7 at Karen U.’s house, giving us time to get the next book – The Jackal’s Mistress by Chris Bohjalian, recommended by Janet Pickles. It is about the Civil War. The book is popular so we might need to put it on hold at the library now in order to get it in time! The author lives in Vermont and graduated from Amherst. Apparently his goal is to never write the same book twice.
