For our October Book group meeting we will be reading The Earth Fulcrum by our own Doug Swatski! Doug has agreed to come and talk to us about the book. Hopefully we can get more church people to come and hear him talk about it! Peggy is going to try to reserve the activity room in her apartment complex so we can accommodate more people than usual.

Douglas J. Swatski was inspired to write in order to explore ideas about space, other life in the universe, and artificial intelligence.

Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he grew up during the golden age of science fiction, inspired by authors such as Arthur C. Clarke, Frank Herbert, and later Iain Banks.

His career spanned law, defense, computer programming, product management, and even venture capital. He currently lives in North Andover, Massachusetts, having moved there to pursue his passion for computer science.

He was a member of the Phoenix Writers Group, which was very supportive of his writing journey.
